Parish Pastoral Council commonly referred to as the Parish Council. This advisory body comprised of parishioners and Parish Clergy, meets regularly with the Pastor to offer advice and assistance on the short- and long-term needs of the Parish.
(Diocese of Bridgeport, Parish Administration & Finance Manual, January 2008)
A Parish Council is to be established in each parish. The Pastor presides over it, and through it, the Christian faithful along with those who share in the pastoral care of the parish in virtue of their office give their help in fostering pastoral activity. The council possesses a consultative vote only
(Laity Public Associations: Canons 298-320 May 1, 1986).
Minutes of all meetings are recorded by the secretary and filed as a permanent record of the parish.
